During the summer of 2009 we had the great opportunity to visit Sumpter, OR. We were welcomed by the locals as though we were family. While we were there we spent some time with Digger Dan and Bob of Boulder Patch Mines and the local Park Rangers. Not only did we see first hand what it took for the Dredge to operate, but it gave a much greater respect as to what it took to help build this great country of ours. Good 'ol American hard work and ingenuity. As we made our way around the surrounding mountains, learning the history that made this a great mining community. We fallen in love with this peaceful area. Everywhere you look there are old miner's cabins, gold mines, and lots of history. Some of the mines are still producing today, though most are privately owned. For a great weekend get away, come to Sumpter for a little prospecting with your family and friends. We invite you to have a look at the links below and come visit this GREAT GOLD MINING COMMUNITY!!!

Special thanks to the great Park Rangers in Sumpter.
